Hi! I’m an SAT tutor and a bit of a numbers person. I scored 790 in Maths myself and have spent the past three years tutoring students who usually come to me stuck somewhere in the 600s. Algebra and advanced maths are my favourite areas to teach. We also spend quite a lot of time figuring out when Desmos is genuinely useful and when solving a question by hand is actually quicker.

I’ve tutored the SAT for six years, working with students at very different starting scores. Most of my lessons centre on Reading and Writing, particularly inference questions, transitions and grammar rules that students tend to overlook. I use official digital practice sets regularly and keep a running list of question types each student misses, so our sessions stay focused rather than turning into general revision.

I have eight years of experience preparing high-school students for the SAT, with particular expertise in the Maths section. My background is in statistics, so I’m especially comfortable teaching data analysis, probability and problem-solving questions. Sessions normally involve a short concept review followed by timed SAT questions. I also analyse practice-test errors with students to identify recurring gaps before their next sitting.

I started SAT tutoring after helping younger students at my school prepare for the test and realised I really enjoyed it. Five years later, I still mainly work with students on Reading and Writing. I’m quite particular about going back through wrong answers because there’s usually a reason the same mistakes keep appearing. Vocabulary-in-context and evidence questions are probably the two areas I enjoy teaching most.

I’ve worked with SAT students for over a decade and teach both sections of the digital exam. Some students need a full preparation programme; others come to me three weeks before test day with one stubborn area that needs sorting out. I’m comfortable with both. I use College Board-style questions extensively, with plenty of timed work towards the end. For Maths, I particularly enjoy geometry and the harder algebra questions.
